Our Process
Every job with Dryer Basement Waterproofing Fort Wayne starts the same way — a real walk-through of your basement, not a phone guess — and follows the same honest process from there. Drew Dryer personally handles the assessment on every job, so the person diagnosing your basement is the same person who stands behind the work. Call (260) 305-1147 to start with a straightforward look at what's going on.

Sound Familiar?
You don’t know if the water in your basement is a $200 gutter fix or a much bigger foundation problem, and you’re wary of calling someone who has a reason to tell you it’s the expensive one.
We do it differently: we look at your basement first and tell you which one it actually is, even when that means a smaller job than you expected.
A national franchise wants to send someone out for a “free inspection” that turns into a high-pressure pitch before you’ve even seen a real scope of work.
We do it differently: you talk directly to Drew Dryer, not a call center, and get a plain description of what we found and what it costs before anyone asks you to sign anything.
You don’t know what to expect from a basement waterproofing appointment and worry it’ll turn into a long sales presentation.
We do it differently: it’s a walk-through and a plain explanation, not a sales pitch — if you want time to think it over, that’s fine.
Our Waterproofing Process: How We Start
It starts with a call or a message describing what you’re seeing — where the water shows up, how often, and how long it’s been going on. From there Drew Dryer schedules a time to walk the basement in person, because photos and phone descriptions only tell part of the story; seeing where and how water is actually moving tells us far more. We ask questions along the way about when the problem started, whether anything changed recently outside the house, and what’s already been tried, if anything. Our process starts with a conversation and ends with a system you understand, not just a crew that shows up and leaves.
The Assessment
During the walk-through, we look at the whole picture: the foundation walls for cracks or efflorescence, the floor and cove joint for signs of water tracking in, the sump pump and drainage if one exists, and the grading and downspouts outside. We’re checking for the actual source of the water, not just where it ends up, since those are often two different places. Once we know what’s causing it, we explain our findings in plain language — what we saw, what it means, and what it would take to fix.
The Fix
Before any work starts, you get a written price and a clear description of the plan, so you know exactly what’s included and what it costs. We recommend the fix that actually addresses the cause we found — sometimes that’s a full system, and sometimes it’s something smaller, like correcting drainage outside, and we’ll tell you honestly which one applies. When the work happens, we walk you through what to expect, and once it’s done, we explain how the system works and what, if anything, you need to do to maintain it. That’s our process in a nutshell: assess honestly, price in writing, then do the work.
After the Work Is Done
Once the job is finished, we clean up the work area and walk you through what was done, including anything you should watch for or maintain going forward, like checking a sump pump periodically. If you have questions afterward, you can reach us the same way you did the first time — directly, without going through a call center. We stand behind the work we do and want you to feel like you got a straight answer from start to finish. See our full site map for every page on this site.
Process Questions
How long does an assessment take?
Most basement walk-throughs take under an hour, though a larger basement or a more complicated water problem can take longer as we trace where the water is actually coming from.
Will I get a price the same day as the assessment?
Often yes, especially for more straightforward repairs — for larger jobs that need more planning, we’ll tell you when to expect the written price rather than leaving you guessing.
Do you do the work yourself or send a crew?
Drew Dryer personally handles assessments, and oversees the work on your basement so you’re not left wondering who’s actually doing the job.
